We had John’s group out this beautiful Sunday. We saw several whales breaching out of the water, along with some dolphins chasing bait. We went to several locations and were able to get our Limit of Sea Bass and added some nice Lings for the box. Great group of guys we had today making memories and enjoying their day.
Today we had Roy Sr, Roy JR, Peter, and Tony out on sea Bass grounds. We started out catching small ones and no keepers. Made a couple moves and found some decent Sea Bass in deeper waters with a mixed batch of nice size Ling,Porgies and whiting to fill the box. Overall started out slow butas the day continued managed to put together some meat for the group.
We had Artur, Frank, Mike, and his son Pawel 12 years old out today! Pawel caught his first Striped Bass 40# class fish on the troll which hit the white Mojo. She was safely released to see another day!! The look on Pawel's face was priceless!!
We Left the dock @ 10am on the Reel Happy with Stan, & Brian. Headed out around the tip of the hook to find some good fatty flatties! Jumped around and fished 50’-80’ with no absence of 16.5 inchers! Biggest fish of the day was 20”. Kept our 4 overs and a couple slot 17”-17.99” inchers. Until next time….. #flukefishing #sandyhooknj #highlandsnj #marinaonthebay #charterboat #charterfishing #njfishingcharter #alanticfishing
Late in the striped bass season as it is, adjustments are necessary. Finding good marks is just part of it. Need patience and a crowbar to pry their mouths open and actually eat our offerings. They were indeed stubborn and it took some coaxing to get them to respond well. We got everyone their fish and one for the crew but that last one for a boat limit looked like it wasn’t gonna happen. We called lines out as the last bait was being reeled in a healthy bass crushed it. Minutes later it was boxed and we pointed back to our slip. Great group of guys again!
I will be targeting sea bass and Fluke this month and mid June will also be targeting Thresher sharks followed by tuna.
